I have been a licensed child and adolescent psychologist for 12 + years. I studied at Xavier University where I earned my doctorate in psychology and trained at some of the finest children’s hospitals in the country, including Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital. My first position as a psychologist was at Boston Children’s Hospital in the Pediatric Pain Rehabilitation Clinic, where I worked with children who were suffering from chronic pain disorders. Many of my patients at the clinic were also struggling with anxiety and depression, sometimes as a result of their chronic pain and sometimes before they ever began to experience the debilitating pain that brought them to Boston. As an employee at Boston Children’s, I was also granted a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School as an Instructor, and co-authored several research studies there. Most recently, I was a staff psychologist at Pediatric Associates of the Northwest, an integrated pediatric primary care office. I became trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, a treatment for younger children who have behavioral challenges.
Apart from being a psychologist, I’m also a mom to a toddler and step-mom to 2 wonderful children. I don’t have much free time these days, but when I do I enjoy being active, walking my 2 dogs, playing piano and reading.
